Our Programs
Our program is designed to challenge children to grow in all areas of development. Your child will be engaged in numerous activities throughout the day that will consist of large group activities, small group activities, creative art, music, story time, invitations to play, provocations, free play and outdoor/gym play. Weather permitting, each class is scheduled for outside play (1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon).
Our curriculum is based on the Ministry of Ontario’s ‘How Does Learning Happen’. Our curriculum will feature a combination of structured, project/inquiry and invitations to play based on children’s interest; all in a Christian based teaching that instills spiritual and Christian values. They are reminded every day that Jesus loves them and that they are unique and special gifts from God.
During the year we have many special events for the children to participate in; Family Celebrations, Christmas Concert, Annual Trip, Graduation, Holiday Parties, Theme Days, Sing-a-longs, Fitness Day, Bible Break and many more events to add to the overall experience and sense of belonging.
Infant
12 months to 18 months
Our bright and welcoming infant room accommodates 10 full-time infants ages 12 months – 18 months. Our smaller group size allows your infant to engage in play and build trusting relationships with our loving and nurturing educators. There are three educators in the infant classroom.
The infant room has a schedule based on the needs of each child. Infants may eat and sleep throughout the day as needed.
We value our families as capable and competent. Our experienced educators will collaborate with you on learning goals for your child. As your child grows and develops and becomes ready for the toddler room, we will continue to work together to prepare your child and ensure a successful transition to the next room.
Toddler
18 months to 2.5 years
Welcome to our 3 toddler rooms! Each room accommodates 15 toddlers ages 18 months – 30 months. To better accommodate the needs of parents and toddlers alike, we offer both full time and part-time care. Our part-time care includes the choice of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday care OR Tuesday and Thursday care.
Our educators create a variety of activities that promote indoor and outdoor active play. The classroom educators view the child as curious, competent, and capable of learning. We will journey as co-learners alongside your child and with you as the parent. We will continue to collaborate and foster learning goals that support your child’s development and growth.
The toddler room schedule supports play, nutrition, and rest based on the needs of the child.
Preschool
2.5 years to 4 years
Our Preschool Program is for children between the ages of 2 ½ and 4 years. We have 4 spacious preschool classrooms that accommodate up to 24 children with 3 educators.
Free flow learning areas provide children the opportunity to capably and competently explore and discover materials on their own, as well as interact with other children and educators while engaging in meaningful play and relationships.
Our educators play a vital role in the way the classroom is set up, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for children and their families. These safe spaces facilitate a sense of belonging, allowing children to express themselves in their ways.
Preschool Prep/JK
Preschool Prep and Junior Kindergarten is an environment that is already familiar, safe, and fun. We know and value that every child learns differently and at their own pace. With a lower Educator to child ratio (1:8 in comparison to 1:15 in the School Boards) we are able to provide more focused attention and learning opportunities for each child.
Fun filled experiences and hands on learning like cooking, baking, dance, science experiments, group learning times, reading programs, learning centres, fields trips and daily exercise booklets are some of the many activities that contribute to the learning path and readiness not only for Grade school but for life.
School Age Camps
4 – 6 years
We offer Summer, March break, and Christmas break camp programs. Camp hours are 7 am – 5:30 pm.
Our Camp Programs provide a fun and adventurous environment that is sure to entertain and engage your child’s interests. We take a fun and creative approach to all our day camp programs. Your child will be engaged through games, field trips, specialty days, and much more. No to mention building friendships along the way!
Our camp classrooms are spacious and full of fun and age-appropriate camp activities. Your child will also have access to a large gym, playground, splash pad, hands-on kitchen, and a party room that is equipped with a big-screen for movies.
March Break Camp and Christmas Camp
4 – 6 years
December and March
Our Christmas Day Camp and March Break Day Camp programs are designed to ensure an unforgettable camp experience in a safe and nurturing environment. Children enrolled in the Christmas or March Break camp programs will participate in a variety of fun and engaging activities, including crafts, baking, science experiments, and even field trips. Our Christmas and March Break Day Camps offer an excellent teacher-to-child ratio, with 3 educators for every 7 children. On excursion or field trip days, the ratio goes to 1 teacher for every 4 children. Your child will also be provided a hot homemade lunch and two nutritious snacks, so you will not need to worry about packing any lunches all camp long! To ensure your child has a great day camp experience, please ensure they come prepared with a labeled water bottle, running shoes, and an extra set of clothes.
Summer Camps
4 – 6 years
July to August
Do your children like to cook, bake, experiment, and go on adventures? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then this is the camp for you. We maintain a 1:7 teacher/child ratio and an incredible 1:4 ratio on trip days. We also provide a hot lunch and two nutritious snacks. Hooray, no packing lunches all summer!
At Little Peoples Day camp, your children will be entertained, engaged, challenged, and will experience lots of hands-on learning and fun. This is the place to take chances and get messy, build lasting friendships and learn about God. If this sounds like the opportunity you have been looking for, then all you need to do is sign up and bring a labeled water bottle, running shoes, hat, bathing suit, sunscreen and a change of clothes. We provide the rest! As a bonus, your child will receive a camp shirt to use all summer to keep as a memory of their awesome summer.

Other Programs
The Peoples Community Sports program offers your child the opportunity to play team sports in a safe and engaging environment. The program runs years round with four seasons and 16 teams. Each season is 8 weeks with a month off before the start of the next season.
Our Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons take place on Saturdays from 9 am -5 pm, where each team gets a 15-minute warm-up and a 45-minute game. Our Summer season takes place on two evenings each week.
After every game, the teams meet and have snacks together. At the end of each season, we have a pizza party and trophy presentation.

PCKids Sunday Morning Church
PCKids enjoy VIP status here at Peoples Church. Every Sunday we provide a fun spiritual learning experience for kids ages 0 – Grade 5. PCKids enjoy games, crafts, worship and engaging biblical teaching for the full length of each service. Join us Sunday mornings 9:15am and 11:15am at Peoples Church Mohawk location and 10:15am at Cumberland location.
Please leave some extra time before the program starts check your kids in. If you are visiting for the first time, please be sure to go to the GUEST CHECK-IN, where someone will be there to greet and assist you.

PCKids Wednesdays Nights
Each Wednesday from 7:00 – 8:15pm, kids in Kindergarten to Grade 5 enjoy a hands-on, fun class of their choice at our Mohawk location.
Sign up for your favourite class at our PCKids Family Night events and spend the next 6 weeks learning and having fun. Then, do it all over again with a whole new roster of classes to choose from! Cooking, sports, gymnastics, Lego, dance, NERF and woodworking are just a few of the diverse classes offered throughout the year!
PCKids Wednesday Family Nights
Family Nights take place every 6 weeks and are free events throughout the year designed to create a unique and fun experience to enjoy with the whole family. Some family nights are Mad Science, Reptile Show, Big screen movie, games night and many more.
Family Nights also provide you with the opportunity to register your child for the next set of incredible classes offered through PCKids Wednesdays.
